“Man was born free, and everywhere he is in shackles.” Jean Jacques Rousseau.

Noticing my last few blogs, I’m clearly in the spiritual zone at the moment! I have something called The Five Minute Journal which is complete every day. It helps me to focus on the positive, to aspire, to be grateful, and to notice my own achievements. It also comes full of wonderful quotes which inspire me. Some of them I share with you.

Too often I work with people who have got completely lost in their lives. Trying to do the right or best thing. Going to work to do jobs they dislike but which pay well, so they stay. Coming home to do chores (their language, not mine). Evenings and weekends spent doing things for others. Week in week out, year in year out. And they arrive finally at a breaking point. Sorry to be so glum.

With the best of intentions, they’ve become passengers in their own lives. Stationary. And what saddens me is the number of people who don’t realise that this is happening to them, or has happened to them. And the part in it they are playing with their unhelpful and repetitive behaviours. They are in their own way.

If this resonates with you at all, please give me a shout so that I can work with you to help you break free of your shackles.

The quote which actually inspired this blog is: “Those who do not move, do not notice their chains.”
