How are you doing? It’s the end of February, which is often described as the most depressing month of the year. How is your state of mind right now? How did you get on with your New Year’s resolutions? What lies in store for the rest of the year? What do you want to achieve? What do you think you ought to achieve? Are you motivated?
I can hear a big sigh.
I recently returned from holiday, and whilst I was away I was able to watch a DVD about the history of The Eagles (the band, not eagles in general….). I’ve always loved their music, and in particulat the song called Take it Easy. If you’ve forgotten or never heard the lines from the second verse, let me remind you:
“Well, I’m a standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona, and such a fine sight to see
It’s a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford, slowin’ down to take a look at me. ”
Here’s a guy just hanging out, enjoying his surroundings and appreciating the moment.
So what do you think would happen if you decided to take it easy?
How about choosing ONE thing you really want to do, making a decision that you are going to do it, and then enjoy the moment and see what happens next? It’s amazing that when you truly fix on something you want to do, the doors will open – you will see and seize the opportunities previously invisible or ignored.
Personally, I think the song is a fantastic recipe for life. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhH3mRkKDX8
