Many of you will have heard of Tony Robbins. I came across this quote recently: “Whatever you hold in your mind on a consistent basis is exactly what you will experience in your life.”

I learned about this phenomenon when I was studying NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) many years ago now. I’ve blogged about it in the past from the perspective of The Law of Attraction, which is the spiritual explanation for the more recently understood neurological process.

In essence, it challenges us to be very careful what we wish for. When we have an internal mantra, such as “I’m always left out, I’ll never be good enough, I’m the underdog, I’ll always have to work hard to make ends meet, I’ll never lose weight….” and so on. You know what I’m talking about here.

Our brains are wired to turn those mantras into our reality. Watch this clip, it’s five minutes long, and puts it very simply. WYSIWYG. What you see is what you get. If you are interested in some more context, this TED talk explains the impact in a little more detail.

And now that you’ve watched the videos, become aware of what you are telling yourself every day which may be unhelpful, and creating for you a regular experience in your life which you would like to change.

When these mantras are deeply embedded, working with someone like me to illuminate them, challenge them and finally remove them, will enable you to create new and more positive experiences in your life.
